Arthur G has long been shaped by a distinctly Australian perspective. One grounded in design, in making, and in understanding how people live. For four decades this has been our practise. As we grow, this foundation remains - The new Australian modern builds on this legacy.

Grounded in instinct, the new Australian modern offers a fresh and optimistic perspective on furniture for the home – for now and for years to come. Our distinctive vision on what our most personal spaces can look and feel like, thoughtfully balanced against the realities of daily life.

Here we present a collection of pieces for the living, dining and bedroom –  designed and manufactured in Melbourne, Australia.

Alba’s identity lies in the details. A sweeping curved silhouette unfolds across three components, while moulded cushioning across the seat back builds volume. The opposing juncture between the back and arm is a quiet point of tension that amplifies the design’s sculptural intent. Delivering an undeniable presence, Alba is generous, welcoming, and refined.

Tightly finished upholstery is wrapped around the frame, while the specially engineered integrated cushioning is soft, supportive, and manufactured to last. Importantly, the internal construction (like all Arthur G products) is GECA certified – upholding our strict dedication to sustainable manufacturing and craftsmanship.

About the upholstery: Casamance Abruzzes

Uniquely constructed, Abruzzes comprises of a bouclette yarn with an elastane weft, allowing the fabric to hug complex curves with a clean finish that doesn’t compromise on comfort.

Lilac toned blue sits against honey, red gum and crisp white - a measured colour palette that exudes a special morning optimism.

Here a lilac toned blue sits against honey, red gum and crisp white – a measured colour palette that exudes a special morning optimism. Soft, but certain.

At the centre sits our new Cassia Bed. Layers of dacron are moulded around the frame, to deliver a soft and substantial shape at all points of interaction. An elongated headboard has an undeniable presence, proportionally designed to envelope a bedside table – but can be extended to bring more drama.

About the upholstery: Kvadrat Asator

Selected for its rich colour saturation and soft hand, Asator is a cotton composition, low pile velvet (pictured here on the bolster cushion). Consider cotton velvet like you would a semi aniline leather – a beautiful, natural composition, that will undergo gentle changes through time. It’s a celebration of character, rather than a reminder of a flaw –  which should always be kept in mind.

Channelling a youthful optimism through the interplay of colour, texture and small-scale prints, the new Australian modern resists the expected – it’s layered, expressive and far from restrained.

Relaxed yet assured, the Rhode Sofa delivers a low maintenance practicality – pairing an integrated fixed seat with feather filled loose cushions that offer a sense of ease – soft, structured and quietly confident. Anchoring this room, Rhode epitomises the balance of good design and practicality, with a confident synthetic mohair upholstery that echoes the iconic interiors of Villa Necchi Campiglio – a verdant green wash. Paired with a modern pointillist icon –  Kvadrat + Raf Simons Ria – as well as the dramatic scale of Casamance Sami, the interplay of texture and tone feels optimistically modern.

About the upholstery: Christian Fischbacher Apollodor

An elegant, thick dry velvet, Apollodor offers a nature led colour line that’s soft to the touch. This highly practical upholstery has been woven from Trevira CS –  making it suitable for use in high traffic areas, and even commercial environments.
